Family Resources

Children need more than what they can get from church. A child that attends church every time the doors are open, even as much as three or four hours a week, won’t spiritually receive what he needs if his parents don’t lead him spiritually at home. There are just too many worldly influences competing for his attention. To illustrate this cut a string that is 168 inches long and then put a one-inch tab on it. There are 168 hours in a week. Visually this will illustrate how minor one hour, or even four hours, is in comparison to everything else that happens in a child’s week. True discipleship must happen at home.

Our Goal

Our goal is to help families experience God’s Word in a fun, surprising and creative manner, in a way that is easy and enjoyable for both the children and the parents, and to ignite in them a hunger that leads them to dig in, crawl inside, explore, and live out God’s truth in everyday life.

Learning Method

Children only remember 10% of what they hear, 20% of what they see, and 30% of what they hear and see. They are concrete learners, which means they retain 80 to 90% of what they do, touch, smell, taste, and help teach. Therefore, these activities are packed with a learning style that will help them to:

Find it. Taste it. Touch it. Make it.

Know it. Grow it. See it. Show it.

Live it!

Biblical Foundation

The following resources as well as others on the left-hand menu have been created to help the parents in your church begin or continue to lead the family as God designed:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7

When you sit…Family Devotions are weekly, family-fun, easy-to-lead, action-packed discussion times .

When you walk…Travel Talks are a great way to make the most of your car-time. Using humor, ventriloquism, and important Bible passages, each contains multiple short-segments that ends with a family discussion question. “Stop the CD now, go around the car and take turns sharing…”

When you lie down…Bedtime Stories. We also want to encourage you to say “The Lord’s Prayer,”or another Scripture passage that your family has decided to memorize, and to pray together as a family as a part of your pattern of putting the kids to bed.

When you get up…Mealtime Musings or Breakfast Bites are questions and simple Bible readings with which to start the day at breakfast or to share at any other mealtime. We also want to encourage you to pray over your children every morning that they will love God more and know God better each day.
